HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF 4/28/08 – 5/2/08
SPELLING – Lesson 29 – Compound Words & Contractions
The final test will be fifteen words from this week's lesson and five words from last week's lesson. Checklist work is due on Friday, 5/2.
READING
Our new unit is a study of the novel, Night of the Twisters. This book is the story of how a family is affected when a series of tornadoes comes throught their town. It also ties in perfectly with our weather unit in science. We will be focusing on revisiting the reading comprehension skills that we have studied all year, such as summarizing, questioning, connecting and predicting, by participating in book clubs during this unit.

FYI
I'd like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who sent in donations for our Chinese cooking day. The fried rice and tea were delicious, thanks to the hard work and cooperation of our student chefs. I think that some students even tried a new vegetable or two! We also enjoyed challenging ourselves to eat with chopsticks! What a fun morning!
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
