Spelling - More VCV (Vowel - Consonant - Vowel) Pattern
The final test for this week's lesson will be on Friday, 3/18. Cursive & Google Classroom activities are also due that day.
Reading - Journeys Unit
We will finish our visit with Edward Tulane. A vocabulary in context QUIZ is scheduled for Monday, 3/14. This quiz will be open book and will focus on using context to determine the meanings of unknown words and making inferences based on the text. We will also be reading a Time for Kids magazine that highlights the inspiring career of ballerina Misty Copeland. The comprehension QUIZ for the TFK will be on Friday, 3/18.
Social Studies - The Midwest - "Just Look" book" Region Project
The technology project for the Midwest is a "Just Look" book. Each student will be assigned a midwest state that they will research. They will create a slide presentation that reveals the identity of the state in stages. Presentations of the "Just Look" book will take place the week of 3/21.
Science - How Does Your Body Get Oxygen & Nutrients?
This week our focus will include the respiratory and circulatory systems. We will study how the two systems work together to bring oxygen to all cells of the body. Below are pictures of students creating a model of the respiratory system...

Mrs. Bell's Math Class - Unit 5 - Multiplication & Division of Fractions
This unit begins with an in-depth study of what happens when you multiply a whole number by a fraction. Students will learn to play Target One Fractions, a game designed to help them develop strategies for multiplying whole numbers by unit and common fractions.
