English- Explanatory Writing
Due to the 3 day week, we will not resume working on the robot essay until the week of 4/15.
Social Studies - The Southwest / The Navajo
We will finish the SW brochures, and they will be collected for a grade. Students will continue to work on their Navajo sand painting and Navajo sun, which reflect the culture of the early Navajo tribes.
Science - How do a Pulley and Wheel & Axle Help People Work? / Inventions
We had SO MUCH FUN during the "in school" field trip, Edison's Workshop. Students learned about static and current electricity. Please see the end of the blog for pictures of our class discovering how electricity works. The pulley and the wheel & axle are the next simple machines that we will study in science. Students will participate in activities in which they discover how pulleys reduce the amount of force needed to do work. Work on the invention project should be continuing at home, as the inventions are due on 4/16.
Mrs. Bell's Math Class - Metric Measurement
Converting metric linear units, metric mass & metric capacity will be our focus this week. Look for the chapter 22 TEST to be scheduled the week of 4/15.
